Timothy Charles Barfield, age 67, peacefully passed away in Tampa, Florida. Born on September 1, 1958, in Dade City, Florida, Timothy remained deeply connected to the place he proudly called home. His life was marked by dedication, perseverance, and a genuine love for family, work, and the simple joys that made life meaningful.
Timothy was a man of strong character and an entrepreneurial spirit. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he founded his own carpet cleaning company, demonstrating his drive, independence, and commitment to building something of his own. This ambition later led him into the insurance industry, where he spent many years serving his community with honesty and reliability. As the owner and operator of his own insurance agency in Dade City, Timothy became known for his steady presence, sound knowledge, and willingness to help others navigate important life decisions. He took pride in his work and built lasting relationships rooted in trust and respect.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Timothy found joy in life’s everyday pleasures. He had a deep appreciation for biking, traveling, and music—activities that allowed him to relax, explore, and connect with the world around him. Whether riding his bike through familiar paths, discovering new places near and far, or unwinding to his favorite songs, Timothy lived fully in the moment and found peace in experiences both big and small.
Above all else, family was the foundation of Timothy’s life. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and family man who cherished the time spent with those he loved. He is survived by his son, Erik Barfield; his daughter-in-law, Cornette Barfield; his beloved grandson, Callan Barfield; his step-grandchildren, LJ and Isaiah Pinkerton; and his sister, Becky Baxter. Timothy took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather, offering steady support, and unconditional love. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, and his dedication to his family never wavered.
Those who knew Timothy will remember him for his warmth, humility, and quiet strength. He had a calm demeanor and a kind heart, always willing to listen and lend support when needed.
Timothy Charles Barfield leaves behind a legacy defined by integrity, compassion, and enduring love. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created, the lessons he imparted, and the love he shared will continue to live on through generations, forever treasured by those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Tampa Cremation & Burial Service located at 8109 E MLK Blvd Tampa FL 33619 on Saturday January 24th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society, continuing the spirit of compassion and care.
