Michael Lamar Wyatt

October 4, 1974 – August 23, 2026

Michael Lamar Wyatt, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 51, surrounded by his loving family. Mike leaves behind a lifetime of memories, and countless lives that were touched by his presence.

Mike was a devoted husband to Montoya Faye Wyatt and a loving father to Christopher Wyatt and Tyrell Stewart, Sr. He was a proud grandfather to Tyrell Stewart, Jr., Layanah Wyatt, Kamiya Wyatt, and Honysti Stewart, who brought great joy and happiness to his life.

He was the beloved son of Antonia Lucille Wyatt and was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale Smith, Sr., and his grandparents.

Mike leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Jimmy Dale Smith, Jr. (Bam) and his wife Veverly, Yolanda Wyatt, Monique Humpheries, Anthony Cotton and his wife Celeste, Paulina Cotton, Carrie Cotton, and Thomas Cotton. He is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Mike was a man who truly knew how to enjoy life. He loved his Chicago Bears, traveling, fishing, RC cars, the beach, cruising, music, and spending time with family and friends. He had a special love for BBQ, enjoying the time spent cooking, sharing good food, and bringing people together. He also had a passion for old-school cars, appreciating their style, character, and the memories they represented.

Mike especially enjoyed playing the bass guitar and could always be counted on for a good conversation, often spending hours talking on the phone with family and friends. He had a personality that could light up any room. He was truly the life of the party, always ready with a story, a laugh, some music, or a good time.

Mike’s greatest joy was being surrounded by the people he loved. Whether enjoying a family gathering, listening to music, talking with friends, working on RC cars, admiring old-school cars, enjoying a BBQ, or simply relaxing by the beach, Michael knew how to make ordinary moments special.

His family and friends will forever cherish his laughter, his stories, his music, his conversations, and all the good times shared together. His presence brought energy and joy wherever he went, and his absence will be deeply felt by everyone who knew and loved him.

Though his time with us was far too short, Mike’s love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit will live on through the family and friends he leaves behind.

Mike will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

Rest peacefully, Mike. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved you.

Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Tampa Cremation & Burial Service, 8109 E. Martin Luther King Blvd, Tampa 33619.

A Celebration of Life will continue immediately following at The Luxe at Tampa Park, 1499 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa 33602.

  17. To my brother, your life from the beginning was far more designed better than you could have ever imagined. Growing up with you, having the foot races on 1st street, to having the pullback car races in the basement on Butler. Man…I know for sure it was partially my fault you became so engaged in the RC Car world because it is a very expensive habit. I know life has happened and we all went on to have our own lives, but we stayed in touch and I want to thank you for being one of the first to congratulating me on becoming a Dr.

Brother you will be missed heavily, but just knowing your peace and relaxation, and being by Jesus side and hearing “well done” based on your life fulfillments puts me at peace. I LOVE YOU 4EVER MY BROTHER!!! Your light hasn’t dimmed, its only become a forever burning star now. I know where to look when I hit a memory, rest well my brother.

  18. Mike, you became family way before you became family. I often think about the McClure days. You must have been about 11 years old. It’s amazing to even think about. The great memories you imparted on life will be with us all. Your spirit is and will be missed. Love you Toya, Nikki, and Wyatt Family!
