It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Lt. Col. Kenneth Mark, Sr. (Ret.), of Tampa, FL, on April 4, 2026. He was a remarkable man whose life was defined by service, strength, and love for his family.
A proud graduate of West Point, Kenneth served his country with honor as an Army Ranger and later continued his distinguished service in the United States Air Force, from which he retired after a decorated military career. His commitment, discipline, and leadership left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Lt. Col. Mark was a devoted and loving husband for 55 years to his wife, Sue Mark, a partnership built on loyalty, strength, and unwavering love. Together, they raised four beautiful children, creating a family rooted in values, support, and care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Mark and Victoria Mark.
He is survived by his children: Kenneth Mark, Jr. (Wendy), Michael Mark (Lisa), Andrew Mark (Michelle), and Vicki McFadden (Daniel).
He is also survived by his four siblings: Mary Fitzgibbon (Bob), Steve Mark (Cindy), Bob Mark, and Arthur Mark, Jr. (Terri). He is also survived by many others including loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Outside of his service to our country, Kenneth enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved football and found great joy in cheering on his favorite teams, especially rooting for Dan Marino. Fishing brought him peace and happiness, providing moments of reflection and memories that will be cherished forever.
He was a proud grandfather of Sarah, Juliana, Jacob, Colin, Avery, Anna, Raegan, Reece, Tegan, and Brendan, who all meant the world to him. His love, guidance, and presence will be deeply missed.
He will be remembered for his strength, his quiet wisdom, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy of service and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Lt. Col. Mark will receive full military honors and will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
