Edward Allen Singer, 68, of Wimauma, Florida, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on June 28, 2026. Born on June 6, 1958, he was the youngest of five children to the late Phillip Nathan Singer and Jean (Fink) Singer.
Born and raised in Levittown, Pennsylvania, Ed was a graduate of Delhaas High School, Piney Point Apprenticeship, PencoTech and Temple University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Ed served as a Merchant Marine, traveling the world until his family needed him at home. He then began his 20+ year career at IBM, working alongside his brother, Ross. Ed continued his career at Watson Clinic, in Lakeland, FL, where he retired as an IT professional. A survivor of Polycystic Kidney Disease, Ed received the life-saving gift of a kidney transplant on August 15, 2001. Forever grateful for the generosity of his donor and donor family, Ed embraced his second chance at life with optimism, gratitude, and a commitment to paying that gift forward by bringing joy to others and making the most of every day.
Ed found his greatest joy in spending time with family. Whether traveling the world with his sister, niece, and friends, relaxing on the beach with loved ones, or simply enjoying the companionship of his beloved dogs, he treasured every moment. He had a generous spirit, an infectious sense of humor, and a remarkable ability to brighten the lives of those around him. His resilience, kindness, and gratitude for life shone through until his final days and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ed was predeceased in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law, Swift Spaulding. He is survived by his siblings, Brent Singer (Karen) of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, Steven Singer (Ruth) of Media, Pennsylvania, Marilyn Spaulding of Wimauma, Florida, and Ross Singer (Angelina) of Port Ewen, New York; along with several loving cousins Richard Friedman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Kenneth Friedman of Stratford, New Jersey, along with several , nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In keeping with his lifelong desire to help others, Ed donated his body to science through the United Tissue Network, ensuring that even in death his legacy of giving would continue. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the organ donor and donor family whose extraordinary gift gave Ed nearly 25 additional years of life, memories, and time with those he loved. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the following organizations that meant the most to Ed: Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation, LifeLink Foundation, SPCA , Indraloka Animal Society and Tunnels to Towers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 1pm.
