Luis A. Justiniano (“Lou”), 71, of Tampa, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2026, at AdventHealth of Tampa.

Luis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha; his sons, Luis Jr. and Larnel (Amanda); his daughter, Michelle (Anthony); and his stepchildren, Ana Sofia, Luisa Fernanda, and Camilo Jose. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Madison, Lucas, Kelsey, Noah, Miguel, Angel, and Nicolas, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his mother, Leida, and his brothers, Cosme (aka Mike) and Wilfredo Justiniano.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cosme Justiniano Rivera, and his cherished dog, Rosie (“Booby”), whom he loved dearly.

Luis was born on February 7, 1954, in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, a place he always held close to his heart. Proud of his Puerto Rican roots, he carried his culture, warmth, and passion with him wherever he went. In his twenties, he moved his family to Chicago, Illinois, in search of better opportunities. However, after realizing in 1989 that the windy city’s cold winters were not for him, he relocated with his family to Tampa, Florida, where he truly found his home.

A fiercely independent entrepreneur, Lou was never afraid to take risks in pursuit of success. He was highly intelligent, a gifted problem solver, and someone who faced challenges head-on with determination and confidence. He had a deep love for salsa music and enjoyed playing both the guitar and mandolin. Lou also found great peace on the water—he owned many boats throughout his life, with fishing being one of his favorite pastimes.

Known for his generous heart, Lou was always willing to offer advice, help, or support to those he loved. He had a special affection for dogs, caring for his animals as if they were family. One of his proudest accomplishments was when he and his wife, Martha, sold their home in Florida and relocated to Ecuador, where they built a home in the city of Quito, fulfilling a dream they shared together.

Luis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His strength, love, laughter, and guidance will live on through those he touched.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on January 24, 2026, at Hope City Church, located at 5513 School Rd., Land O’ Lakes, FL 34638. The service will be led by Pastor Tyson Prater. Flowers may be sent to 8647 Eagle Brook Dr., Land O’ lakes FL 34638
