Juan Couzens was born to Willard Jamil Jr., Willie Maude Couzens on May 22nd, 1962, in Tampa Fla. He attended King High School Class of 1980. Juan had a big heart and was loved by many. Besides his quiet and humble spirit, Juan enjoyed fishing, reading, playing basketball and playing with his dogs. His passion was cooking in which his career was head chef.

The day before his untimely demise his 4th granddaughter, Anisa Couzens, was born, followed by his first and only grandson, Adrian Hewitt. Juan departed this life on December 17th, 2025, at Life Path Hospice.

Juan is proceeded in death by His parents: Willard Jamil Jr., Willie Maude Couzens. Grandmother: Anna Wynn-Carlisle. Sisters, Shirley Ann Freeman, Francelia Rodriguez. Brothers: Angelo freeman Sr. Jon Couzens and Jamil Couzens and his beloved dogs, Winston and Bentley.

He leaves to cherish memories: his lovely wife of 26 years, Juanita Couzens, his aunt Lucy Nell St. Clair. His children: Anjuli Couzens, Jamael Couzens and Quadira Couzens. Stepdaughters: Alicia Cruz and Meliza Parrilla as well as his dog: Homer. Grandchildren: Ja’Mya Taylor, Aubrey Powell, Aleali Couzens, Anisa Couzens and Adrian Hewitt. Sisters: Regina Glenn and Jan Couzens, Brothers: Larry Freeman, Walter Freeman Sr. (Ella Jean) Jerry Couzens (Lois) and Jeffrey Couzens.

A list of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
