Idalia Troyano

Idalia Troyano, of Sun City Center, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 28, 2025 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Idalia was born on June 14, 1957 in Villalba, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Manuel Troyano and Tomasa Feliciano.  She spent her childhood in Villalba with her parents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.  In the beautiful island mountains Idalia learned resilience and generosity.  Her dedication to her education earned her excellent grades throughout her school years.  As an adult, Idalia left the island and moved to New York and then Connecticut before settling in Florida where she built a fulfilling life with her loving husband Donald.

Don and Idalia had a beautiful marriage full of love, laughter, and shared adventures.  Whether they were taking a trip to the beach, traveling, or enjoying time at home with their dog Kaia, they truly enjoyed each other’s company.  During Idalia’s battle with cancer, she was never alone.  Don stood by her side offering unwavering love, comfort, and strength.  His gentle care was a source of peace for Idalia, and a testament to the deep love they shared.

After working various jobs to put herself through school, Idalia’s professional journey landed in the field of Information Technology, most recently at Citi.  Over almost four decades in IT, her expertise, and problem-solving skills left a lasting impact on her colleagues.  Those who worked along side Idalia will remember not just her dedication and skill, but her big personality and heart of gold.  She formed many genuine friendships with coworkers over the years.

Above all else, Idalia was devoted to family.  Idalia was the type of mother that never missed a school event, game, or competition.  She could always be found sitting front and center, beaming with pride.  Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her children, and then later her grandchildren and great grandson.  Idalia’s strength, kindness, and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved most.

Remaining to cherish Idalia’s memory are her husband Donald Raymond, her son Manuel (Sara) Santiago-Troyano, her daughter Kristeen (Jim) Pasquale, her stepdaughter Samantha Raymond, her grandchildren Gabrielle (Dylan) Bradford, Alexander Santiago, and Kamden Pasquale, her step-granddaughter Kayla Rickle, and her great grandson Thomas Bradford.  She is also survived by many loving siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Honoring Idalia’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service.  The family will get together privately to celebrate her life.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to pancreatic cancer research.
