Carlson, Gale B.
Feb. 2, 1946-July 9, 2025
My sweet, beautiful wife, passed away after a short but serious illness following emergency surgery in March. She passed peacefully in her sleep on July 9, at age 79. The daughter of Hazel and Paul Borck, she was born in Boston, Mass. She split her time between Westwood, Mass. and Meredith N.H., where she was an expert water skier and avid snow skier. She was an extremely kind soul with a warm heart; she made friends easily, even in line at the supermarket. A dedicated Bucs, Rays, Red Sox and Pats fan, Gale moved to Fl. from Meredith, N.H. in 1997 after earning her degree in social work from Springfield College. She spent the next 27 years working in the social services field, primarily first in behavioral care with at risk or disabled children, and then for the Fl. foster care system, where she retired as a care manager supervisor from Kids Central in 2023. Through her many years mentoring young female grads in this highly stressful, challenging career, she became known as “mama Gale” to all her young ladies. Gale is survived by her devoted husband of 26 yrs., Robert Carlson, her very dear sister, Robin Sturgis, of Quincy, Mass., her two sons, Todd White, of Moultonboro, N.H. and Ryan White (Christie), of Epsom, N.H. and her two grandchildren, Morgan White and Hunter White. She was also very close to her cousins Sue (Paul) and Peter (Pat). Also, her long-time, devoted and beloved best friend Jill Staninas (Mike) of Homosassa, her dear friend and long-time boss, Melinda Sczepanski (Andi), and her “girls”, Angela, Meghan, Malinda, Rachel, and many others. My honey will be heartbreakingly missed by so many people whose lives she touched during her 79 years on this earth. And I will miss her forever. Memorial services to celebrate Gale’s life are being planned in Dunellon, Fl. and N.H. for late mid-August.
Condolences
