Emory “Steve” Olive was born on March 3rd, 1951, in North Carolina and passed away on January 17th, 2026, in Tampa FL. He was 74.
He is preceded in death by his father Neander “Jack” Olive, and mother Leola “Lee” Olive. He is survived by his loving partner Linda Sagun, his daughter Erin Olive (Ryan), and grandchildren Trevor, Tanner and Nathan Schurlknight, his sister Vileta (Mike) Wilson, and niece Meghan Wilson, his many friends and additional children and grandchildren he opened his heart to.
Steve grew up in Orlando, Florida and graduated from Maynard Evans High School. He then joined the United States Air Force and after completing his service, went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and made that town his home. He worked there as a Data Analyst for the local Veterans Hospital. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting with family and friends. These were some of his most cherished memories. He was also a volunteer Black Belt Assistant Instructor at the ZC Karate School. Steve was known for always being willing to lend a helping hand, and for his love of dogs.
